Changes

So, I know it's been a while since I've written, but I didn't have much change to update about. I've been living in Durham for 3 months now, working at my company in the Day Treatment department for 3 months now. I did receive my provisional license a few weeks back, so I am now officially: Christina Wright, P-LCSW!!! I'm all spiffy with letters behind my name now. :) Now what that means is that over the next two years I have to accrue 3,000 hours, no more than 1,500 in a year, have 100 hours of supervision, and pass the national clinical test in order to drop the P and become fully licensed. With that said, I didn't feel like my current job was clinical enough to use towards my hours. Although, it does count as clinical hours, I wanted to get the experience doing more one on one work, and ethically I didn't think it was right to continue doing something I didn't feel was right for my provisional license. After many days of thinking, and hours on the phone with the parents and numerous other people, I decided to put my two weeks notice in. I received 7 interviews (all for the same position), 1 second interview, and 2 offers. Just when I thought I figured it all out I received another offer, this one was from my current company. Again, after many hours thinking and talking to many people I decided to take the promotion with my current company. However, the reason it took so much thought, was because the job is an hour away, and the position means that I would spend the majority of my day out in the community, driving from consumer to consumer (in home or at school). I knew I couldn't drive back and forth, plus all around the city all day.

I've decided to take the position, AND move! So, I will yet again be moving. Luckily I haven't met too many people here yet, so the goodbye will not be as hard as the other times I've moved; and the exciting part is I will be moving to Greensboro (the city Brian[my brother] lives in). The position is called Intensive In-Home Team Lead. I will be in charge of a team of 3, me and 2 others, and we will be providing crisis intervention to a caseload of 8 families. The child is the identified consumer, but we will work closely with the whole family. The majority of the visits are in the home, and I will be doing the therapy part of the services. I'm excited about the new position, and will know more very soon, since tomorrow is my first day of the new job!

I will update again soon, I promise, once I learn more about the new job.

Bye for now <3
